Abstract Name

I’m really proud of this next creation i’m about to show you.

Bekah’s Aunt Janet called me recently and asked if i could create their last name “letters” out of abstract shapes.

I took it as a personal challenge!

They just bought a house, that needs some fixing up, so I knew we could find a lot of random items around their property that would work.  In addition to their property, I went to their new hometown to take some additional photos to try to form letters.

Are you lost yet?

Their last name is Mitchell, and i’m not real sold on the last L in the series.  I’m working on finding a new “L'” somewhere around their house.  In the meantime, just focus your eyes on the light colored wood, instead of the dark.

Behold….

My creation.

Mitchell

Let me explain how this all relates to their life/family:

the M is for McDonalds, where their 2 year old loves to eat.

The I is their two year old :)

The T is a cross on the side of the road where their childhood friend was killed several years ago.

The C is the top of a chain link fence gate.

The H is part of the brick on their house

The E is a doorway downtown Middletown

The 1st L is the end of the gutter on their house

The 2nd L is part of the barn door out in the pasture.

How fun is that!?!?

Isaac Jasper

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to meet the most adorable baby boy.  I’ve known his mommy through a mutual friend for quite a while, but when i found out that I was going to get the opportunity to meet him AND photograph him…  I was so excited!

We spent several minutes trying to get him to smile… but he was just not having it.  FINALLY… i got a good smile out of him.  When i got home to edit the pictures, i realized why he was so willing to smile…. he was flipping me off!

Meet Isaac Jasper…

Chad + Leslie + Olivia

I’ve been taking photographs of Chad and Leslie since they called and needed a photographer last minute for their wedding reception.

It’s always such a compliment to have people call me back year after year to photograph their family.  It’s almost like we get to know each other on a more personal level.  And I love that.

Meet Chad, Leslie and their sweet almost-two-year-old daughter, Olivia.

Olivia had her own set of rules at our photoshoot.  She needed to do things on her own terms.    We just rolled with it.  Because she’s two.

And she’s as cute as a button.

Ford Family

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to meet a cute family at the Indianapolis Museum of Art for some family pictures.  We were very concerned with the chance of rain, so I was glad that it all worked out!

Without further adieu….

Meet the Ford Family!

Elise, the sweet baby girl… was a challenge!  But we worked it out :)

Candy and Kids

I received a call from a lady recently that I’ve never met.  She said that there was a lady at her church that is terminally ill with Cancer.  After having her children later in life, she was blessed with a set of triplet BOYS that are now 4 years old!

With the days ahead being given to her by the grace of God, one of her last ‘wishes’ was to have some nice family photos taken of her with her sons, so they will know how much she loved them when she’s gone.

Do you have a Kleenex yet?  Because you’re going to need one.

Meet Candy, Abraham, Noah and Daniel…

C34antiquevignette

If you were to see her on the street, you would never know that her health is declining.

If you were to spend a few minutes watching her with her boys, you would find out exactly how much she loves them.

If you were to listen to her speak, you’d quickly learn that she takes absolutely nothing for granted.

This woman is a beautiful.

Courageous.

A fighter.

And loves God.

Which is a pretty remarkable thing to be able to do, given her circumstances.

Each of the boys said they like it when their mommy reads them a book.  So they all ran in the house together and picked out their favorite book for her to read to them.

I hope moments like these are etched in their minds forever.

I don’t think I can adequately explain what it meant to me to spend the small amount of time that I did with a woman that was more powerful than she even knows.

After only 45 minutes in her presence, I realized that she is absolutely an angel…

…waiting to get her wings.
