Bobby + Sarah + Lorelei

Last week,  I was so excited to finally meet one of my blog-stalkers, Sarah! 

Sarah is the soon-to-be family of my friend Allison, and once she started reading my blog, decided that she wanted me to photograph her adorable daughter, Lorelei.

If you are from Indiana you already know that photography in June has been MISERABLE.  Between trying to plan around the ridiculous amount of Thunderstorms and subsequent humidity, anyone that chooses to be photographed deserves some kind of medal.  I don’t know if it’s ever been this hot …. EVER!

So, we decided that we’d meet at the Museum of Art for our photo shoot.  As always, the location delivered excellent photographs.

Meet Sarah and Bobby…. they are engaged to be married!

From what I learned, Bobby isn’t a big fan of photos, but I have to tell you – he did really well, despite the CRAZY heat.

And when you add Lorelei to the mix….

…the family just can’t get much cuter.  I don’t know much about Sarah, but I do know that when she’s with Bobby and Lorelei, she’s absolutely in her element.

After we got done with the Family Pictures, we sent Bobby to the car and hung out with the girls for some mommy time :)

This is one of those pictures that makes me hope and pray Lorelei remembers her mom in this way, many years from now…

Vanessa Turned 5!

For my niece, Vanessa’s birthday, I decided this year to take her out to eat and celebrate by doing something fun that I enjoy doing with her.

So we headed to McDonald’s for dinner (her choice!) and then to take some fun pictures with some of the new school clothes that I’d bought for her birthday.

She chose 3 different outfits that she wanted to be photographed in, and they looked just adorable!

We started in a little field full of weeds and then headed to a couple of other places in town!

Little League Softball

I was recently asked to photograph a little league softball game so the coach could give the players a little collage of pictures at their end of the season dinner.

So, I got up early a couple of Saturday mornings ago, and had fun with the Dairy Queen team!

 

I had a really fun time watching the girls play and hope they enjoy their collages!  

Adelin turned 1!

Back in the fall, I took family pictures for a friend I went to high school with, Jessica.

I was SO SURPRISED and EXCITED when she called me while I was on Spring Break and asked me to take 1 year photos of her sweet girl Adelin.

I was so excited!

So, we decided one night last week was a good night to do it.  The weather was perfect – so we just met at the park.

I asked Jessica if she had any kind of a rocking chair or props that were special to Adelin.  She said the only thing she could think of is a rocking chair that her dad made for her when she was a baby.

So, her step-mom, Pam met us at the Park with the chair and I got to photograph Adelin in the chair for the first time!

Adelin has SO much personality.  I know she probably had no idea what she was doing in this picture, but I can’t help but LOVE her pose!

 

Do you totally love Adelin’s pants and matching headband?

Me too.

The best part… Jess made it!  YES… she MADE it herself!  I want her to make clothes for every little girl I know!

Speaking of outfits and hairbows…

Adelin has such a fun personality!  I can’t wait to see her again this fall!!

Alanna Gabrielle

Saturday morning, I got up early and headed to Fishers to meet a very sweet girl for the first time!

 

At exactly 1 week old, Miss Alanna was absolutely perfect!  It seemed like she had the whole “life” thing down to a science.  She only fussed at appropriate times (clothing changes) and looked ridiculously adorable the entire time.

She was like a dream come true for this crazy camera lady :)

 

This sweet girl came complete with two parents that have been praying for this precious baby for a really long time.

Meet Adam and Kim, more commonly referred to [now] as Daddy and Mommy.

Can you tell how much they adore her?

Almost 2 years ago, Adam and Kim lost twin boys, Alexander and Gabriel at (I think about…) 18 weeks of pregnancy.  I’m sure their entire world felt completely crushed around them, and now-  as they hold Alanna, you can just tell it’s like their hearts are nearly full again.

   

And I love that for them.

Is it possible for her to be any more perfect and content?  This is a girl after my heart…

OH she has some serious personality.   OK fine, she had no clue what she was doing but dang it, I love this picture.  I don’t really like the angle, but absolutely love the fact that she’s sticking her tongue out at her parents, who are clearly adoring her.

When we were in the nursery, I noticed this picture frame sitting on the dresser.  I hope some of these photos can “fill this up” very soon!

 

     

When I got there, I asked if they had anything special like an outfit, stuffed animal, blanket, etc that they wanted in the photographs.  Adam pulled two tiny hearts out of his pocket and quietly said “just these”.

I realized that the ceramic hearts were from the boys birth and appeared to have their handprint/footprints engraved in them.

From the outside, Alanna appears to be an only child – but in the hearts of Kim and Adam, she has two big brothers watching over her in heaven.

There’s just something about this “family picture” that reminds me that true love endures everything. 

I hope it reminds Adam and Kim that no matter how much time passes, Alexander and Gabriel will always be in their hearts and the hearts of those who love them.

You are your parent’s dream come true.  An answered prayer.  A product of love, faith and a whole lot of trust in God.  You are perfect, flawless and the definition of a miracle.   You are 6 pounds and 6 ounces of Grace and Promise.

You face this world armed with the Love of God and two big brothers to watch over you.  How many people can say that their brother(s) are God’s ‘right hand men’?  There is nothing in this life that you won’t accomplish.

You are part of a detailed plan and have a purpose far beyond what any of us can imagine.

The Fair Family

I had the opportunity today to hang out with the Fair family today and as always – it was a great time.

I’ve photographed Nikki several times over the past couple of years and today… I got to photograph her entire family! 

Nikki always has the cutest outfits and color scheme’s picked out when I photograph her and I knew today wouldn’t be a disappointment!

In case you forgot, meet Nikki and her husband Steve Scott…. (Oh, and their dog Rocky)

 

I first met Nikki and Steve Scott  a couple of years ago when I photographed their engagement session (and later, their wedding reception).  The entire time we spent together downtown Indy doing the engagement pictures, I couldn’t keep Scott’s name straight.  I was calling him Steve or Scott the entire time!

So, it’s become almost like a running joke.  That’s the fun thing about this hobby – I get to meet so many new people and they become like friends and family!

Could this awesome couple be ANY MORE photogenic?

..I didn’t think so.

 

If there’s one thing I love about this couple, it’s seeing how much she adores him.  (I think he likes her a little bit too :) )

Everyone was in such happy moods, the boys were absolutely awesome and we were able to get pictures done very quickly. 

I love this family!

 

After we were done with pictures, Josh started having fun with the kids in the field….

I love a dad that genuinely loves to have fun with his kids….      

 

A few moments later… he had Gabriella balancing on his hand….  She loved it!

Gabriella,  You are absolutely beautiful. 

 

And your brothers – are just ADORABLE!!
