Jasmine

This weekend, I traveled to Bridgeton, Indiana to photograph Jasmine’s Senior Pictures.

A few weeks ago, she found a covered bridge that she wanted to have her Senior Pictures taken with.  Her parents were happy to accommodate anything she wanted for her pictures, so they gave me directions to their house and from there – we all left together and headed for the covered bridge.

When we arrived, we realized it was almost like a little “dated” community of it’s own.  I’ve never seen anything like it.  My focus was obviously on Jazzie, but I wish I could’ve captured this small little community.  It was amazing.

Meet Jazzie…

This girl could rock some major outfit changes like it was NOTHING.  She brought 4 different outfits and looked amazing in each and every one of them.

I learned that Jasmine’s mother’s family has Cherokee Indian / Black Foot Tribe in their blood.  In honor of that, Jasmine made (did you hear that?  She MADE…) this outfit.

I’m sorry, but this girl is gorgeous.

After she changed out of the Indian Outfit… she put on the cutest and most “fun” dress I’ve seen.

And all of a sudden, she went from Jasmine the Warrior to JAZZIE!

Doesn’t this photo scream … “Bye   Mom!  I’m off to college!” ??

Jasmine loves riding horses, and owns a few too!  For her final outfit, she went sophisticated.  And pulled it off to a T…

Thanks Jasmine for allowing me to spend a few hours with you and your parents.  Your Indian outfit amazed me.  I think your skill and talent go far beyond your years.

Good Luck in College !

Baby Tayler

I’ve gotten to know a really sweet couple from volunteering at the prison.  She’s an ordained minister in Tipton and he’s in school for the same.

They recently became grandparents for the second time and asked me to take their granddaughter, Tayler’s newborn photos.  I was so excited!  Especially once I heard that sweet Tayler was just a teeny-tiny thing!

Meet Tayler Breann…

Do they get any sweeter than that?

She was so alert the entire time we were taking photos, rarely got fussy and let me pose her any way I wanted.

I’m pretty sure she’s my new best friend :)

Look how wrinkly her skin is!  I love it!!!!

Maigen + Tim

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Maigen and Tim’s wedding.

Maigen was referred to me by her co-worker who just happens to be one of my bestest friends in the whole world, Andrew’s mom.

Anyway – several months ago we met and I showed her some of my work and she hired me!  I was so excited.  She said her wedding was very colorful… with bright pink dresses and man-oh-man was it a dream come true for this girl!

Meet Tim and his new wife Maigen:

Maigen has 2 sisters and a brother.  So you can imagine that the bridal room before the wedding was full of fun!

I’m sorry but these flower girls were probably the absolute prettiest little girls that I’d ever seen!

Maigen and Tim’s ceremony went off without a hitch.  It was perfect, simple and exactly what they wanted.

And after SEVEN years….  Husband and Wife!

Their reception was held at Ft. Ben, which was absolutely beautiful.  Before the reception, they wanted some outdoor pictures with their wedding party and dog.  It started to rain a little bit but LUCKILY stopped just as we were beginning to shoot.

The reception was beautiful.  They had wonderful food, a great crowd and people that loved to dance!

I have a really soft spot for father daughter dances.  Maigen is the baby girl of the family…  I don’t think her dad was too quick to let go.

Thank you Maigen and Tim for asking me to photograph your wedding!  I had an awesome time and cannot wait to get your book completed!

Reagan is 1 Year Old!

Maybe you know this and maybe you don't, but if there's one thing that I love most about a baby boy, it's the little "man clothes" that they wear. I don't know why, but i absolutely love it when people dress their sweet boys in little "adult" looking clothes.

Meet Reagan.

Brown Hair, Eyes that just talk to you, and a smile that will melt your heart.

He's a lover of the swing, little bitty rocks on the ground, his Grammy and ... oh yea - his mom and dad!

I first talked to Reagan's Mommy about a month ago when she was planning his FIRST BIRTHDAY party. We decided that we'd meet to do pictures this past weekend, and luckily - it all worked out. We were a bit concerned with the 40% chance of rain ... but it held off for us!

I pretty much love his mom Angela. She came so prepared!

Multiple clothing changes? CHECK.

Cup of Juice for potential disasters? CHECK.

Grammy to entertain the sweet boy during photos? CHECK.

Handmade Blankie? CHECCCCCKKKKKK!

Angela and Brian LOVE this little boy.

And I don't mean love. I mean LOVE. It is so obvious in the way they interact with him, the way he interacts with his daddy, just everything. THEY LOVE HIM. And that's what I love about my photography gig. It is so inspiring to see people that are head over heels in love with their children.

Can you tell how much fun they have with this boy?

Reagan... do you know how lucky you are?

And Grammy? Oh My Goodness... Does Reagan have his Grammy wrapped around his finger!? At one point, Grammy literally took her watch off so he could do whatever he wanted with it, just so he would smile! As I understand it, Brian's mom is pretty much the same way.

...and Reagan is no dummy! He knows how to make Grammy happy...

sitting on a blankie (that Grammy made) under a tree and just "hangin out" like BFF's.

After spending almost 2 hours with this cute family, I sat down to edit photos and saw this photo, and wanted to put a phrase on it that would help you understand just how special this little man is.

And to me, this is perfect:

Angela, Brian, Reagan and Grammy ... Thank You for hanging out with me Saturday afternoon! Reagan is absolutely precious! It is so refreshing to see sweet children that are so loved! It was a pleasure to meet you all ... keep loving that boy!!

Holly + Kyle Engagement Photos

Sunday evening, I headed out to Kyle's Family Farm for some very sentimental photos.

A couple of years ago, Kyle's uncle passed away after battling cancer. I know that Kyle was very close to his Uncle and now holds the Family Farm very dear to him because of that loss. It's kind of his way of feeling like his Uncle is still with him.

Out on the farm, there's a large barn which was his Uncle's Hangar when he flew airplanes. He has a strip of grass (and now weeds) that used to serve as his runway. We had a ton of fun out on the farm. Every intricate detail of the engagement session held so much meaning and once I got home and started editing, it was incredibly obvious that Kyle's Uncle was on that photo shoot with us. (more on that to come).

Meet Holly and Kyle....

Kyle proposed to Holly several months ago under the willow tree in the lawn behind his Aunt's house. And under that same willow tree on September 19th, they will seal the deal.

How sweet is that?

Back to the runway...

I wanted to get some good pictures of these love birds in some tall weeds. Luckily, we found TONS of un-mowed grass on the runway...

I want them to blow this photo up and hang it above their bed!! LOVE IT... in a 20x30 size frame!...

Like I said before, Kyle's Uncle really enjoyed flying planes.

And when I got home to edit these photos, I couldn't believe the overwhelming feeling that I got when I saw what some would consider "sunflare" from the lens of my camera reflecting onto them. There are times when I have to try really hard to get some good sun flare in a photo. This time, I wasn't trying, and i didn't see it when i was taking the pictures and reviewing them on the back of my camera before I left.

I know without a shadow of a doubt, after seeing the sunflare in these photos that Kyle's Uncle is sitting in Heaven smiling on the two of them.

I was speechless...

While we were out on the runway getting pictures sitting in the weeds, they looked down and found TWO 4-leaf clovers side by side in the middle of all the weeds. HOW COOL IS THAT? And even though I don't believe in "luck" ... I think it's really cool that they found the clovers and another sign from his Uncle saying "you guys are so lucky to have found eachother."

Congratulations Kyle and Holly ... I am so thankful that Kyle is in your life and will be a great role model for Carli and Cambri. To me, the clover represents all 4 members of your family, held together by Faith.

Love you all.
